Two cycle rides, organised by Bolsover and District Cycling Club, are coming up in May as part of the Historic Border Country Walking Festival.
Ride the Phoenix Greenways begins at Tibshelf Ponds Car Park at 10 am on Saturday 15th May and explores the network of former railways on the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire border that have been upgraded to greenways - from Tibshelf to Pleasley and back. This easy route covers 13 miles and is expected to finish around 1 pm.
The Chesterfield Round Ride starts at Poolsbrook Country Park Visitor Centre at 10 am on Saturday 22nd May. Inspired by the Chesterfield Round Walk, this is a ride round Chesterfield for cyclists following a similar route, using quiet roads, bridleways, greenways and the Chesterfield Canal towpath. Taking in a total of 42 miles, the ride is expected to finish around 4 pm. Bring a packed lunch.
Both rides are free to enter but booking is essential. Either book online at the links below or contact the Tourist Information Centre on 01246 345777/8.
