Hi folks,
This will amuse, flabbergast and horrify you.
The Guardian and Warrington Cycle Campaign have been cataloguing the world's worst "facilities intended for cyclists".
I've submitted a lovely one from Chesterfield. Please feel free to have a look at contribute your own comments:

The smallest cycle lane in the world?
Thanks - the Sheffield Rd one is really funny! I haven't tried bunny hopping on those speed bumps - need to line up a special trip perhaps...
On reflection I felt the need to post the Beetwell Street cycle lane too.

The world's worst cycle lanes
Hi Simon,
It took me a while to find your specific picture of Chesterfield, so here's the direct link for anyone else who wants to see it:

There are some terrible sights in that Guardian set though! Sometimes, I find it hard to believe that someone thought they were a good idea.
Did you know that Chesterfield also appears in Warrington Cycle Campaign's "Facility of the Month"? See March 2007 ...

This one is on the old Sheffield Road at Old Whittington.

Actually, I've just had a great idea!
They should put those barriers on all road junctions too, just in case the driver doesn't notice the junction and drives straight out into the traffic ;D
