Chesterfield Cycle Campaign

Hello All

I just wanted to put in a sales pitch for the new Transition Chesterfield project, in case you haven't heard about it yet. The Transition idea is a local grassroots response to climate change and peak oil (the end of cheap oil), and aims to make our town more sustainable and resilient. There are Transition Towns popping up all over the country, and here in Chesterfield we're just starting to gain momentum.

The first stage is raising awareness and building a network, so we've set up a yahoo group and are holding a series of films and talks through the summer. Hopefully we'll then start collectively moving on to creating some positive, practical and local solutions - which should certainly include lots of cycling!
