At the last campaign meeting the subject of rear mounted cycle carriers on buses came up. Last year whilst on hoilday I noticed such buses on the main roads in West Wales. There are a couple of services run by TrawsCambria, I think part of Arriva Buses Wales, that will take bikes: http://trawscambria.org.uk Their website states two services, the X32 and X94, from Aberystwyth and Bangor and they will only pick up and drop off at certain places.
Perhaps we should contact Hulleys of Baslow regarding similar arrangements from Chesterfield. Hulleys service 170 connects with many of their other services from Bakewell into the Peak District. This would also enable cyclists from Chesterfield to connect with the many DCC off road cycle tracks in the area such as the High Peak and Tissington trails.
